Written between January and May of 2022, this undergraduate thesis attempts to tell a fuller story of “Urban Renewal,” which was the process of government-sponsored redevelopment of American inner cities during the middle of the 20th century. Although written in one semester, the paper is a culmination of more than three years of extracurricular research that included an extensive literature review, consultations with academic experts, and interviews with residents who lived through the process of Urban Renewal.
